Terms of use

Your account

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, give us a real email address, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings.

What Clareo is

Clareo retells ideas from books as short audio episodes with transcripts. They are written and narrated with the help of AI tools, including synthetic voices, and they are our own retellings, not the books themselves.

Clareo is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the authors or publishers of the books it covers. We use titles and author names to say which book an idea comes from.

Clareo is for general information and learning. It is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice. For decisions like those, talk to a qualified professional.

The free plan

The first idea of every book in the library is free, for as long as you have an account. The free plan does not expire and does not turn into a paid plan.

Clareo Plus

Refunds and cancelling within 14 days

You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a payment. See the Refund policy for how it works with each store. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, this also covers your legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days.

Using the content

Everything in Clareo, including the text, audio, transcripts, artwork and design, belongs to us or our licensors. You may listen to it and read it for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t copy, record, redistribute, sell or publish it, and don’t scrape the service or use it to train AI models.

Fair use of the service

Don’t use Clareo in a way that breaks the law, harms others, or disrupts the service, for example by trying to get around the free plan, overloading our systems or accessing other people’s accounts. If you do, we may suspend or close your account. If we close an account that paid for Plus for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part.

Changes to Clareo

We keep improving Clareo, which means books, ideas and features can be added, changed or removed. We aim to keep Clareo available but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you in the app or by email before the change applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim there. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@tryclareo.com so we can try to fix it.
